Here’s who I am:

I’m Alison Maratos, BA, BSW, MSW, RSW, ACC. If you know what those letters mean, then I may be someone you want to meet. I am a wife and a boy (men) mom, a Bernedoodle owner, a hockey nut and an ADHDer who is trying hard not to live in my head so much and to channel my shiny object syndrome for good (it’s ongoing).

I was attracted to the field of social work because I wanted to help people and I have always been interested in systems, communication and efficencies. If that makes me nerd, so be it! I have used this interest to develop everything you see here. It’s been an ongoing passion project, fuelled by my experiences as well as what I have learned from and with trusted colleagues on my journey.

Here’s why I do what I do:

Through my work as a therapy practice owner, clinical supervisor and coach that I started to realize that therapists at all stages of the game need help with more than the clinical stuff (in fact, that’s the fun part for most of us).

In my opinion, what therapists really need are ways to maintain their own mental health and wellness. That encompasses a whole pile of things, most of which I can’t help you with. But from where I’m sitting, I can help you lessen some of the stress, pressure and overwhelm you’re feeling simply because you’re a therapist in private practice who does hard things each day clnically, but who is also fighting the business battle, which, if you’re like me, is something you have had to learn as you have travelled along.

I have a lot of ideas and opinions and it’s not my first rodeo. I have worked in agencies, for the government, as a solo therapist, as a contractor and as a group practice owner.

So I guess that means I’ve seen this business from many angles.

Here’s why you’re important to me.

So, now that you’re settled in, take a look around. I have created the products and services you see here from my heart, my knowledge and my experience on this journey. I have tried to meet you where you are:

  • If you’re new, I want to help you lay a foundation. I remember what it was like to feel clueless and poor while trying to live the dream. I have worked hard create tools that meet you where you are.

  • If you’ve been around awhile and have built something big (or big-ish), I am right along side you, living the life of learning new skills as a a business owner and manager of people. I have been burned, disappointed, and terrified as much as I have been joyful, proud and fulfilled.

One thing that has remained consistent for me throughout this journey has been the presence of people. Amazing, kind, generous humans who happen to be therapists. I want to pay that forward to you here, whatever that looks like, wherever you’re at today.

Here’s what I made for you!
