You’re a Group Practice Owner

Group of eight diverse women sitting on colorful staircase, smiling and enjoying each other's company.

You love building your practice and helping your team grow, but you hate that feeling you get when you’re not sure they “get it” when it comes to landing and retaining clients and managing their caseloads.

Portrait of a woman with shoulder-length wavy brown hair, smiling, wearing a white blazer and a gold chain necklace, against a plain gray background.

My name is Alison and I get you!

…and I am going to change your GPO life!

So let me help you:

  • make sure your team stops guessing at how to assess, case plan & document their client interactions

  • reinforce client onboarding and retention practices so you don’t lose clients and improve your bottom line

  • give you confidence in knowing your team has had sound clinical, business and administrative training to handle challenges and run a tight practice

I know you’ve onboarded, provided resources, and repeated messages, but you’re still not confident your team “gets it”.

A small investment in your team can pay big dividends.

Workshops that fit your needs and your budget on topics that are relevant to every group practice.

When you provide your team with the information they need to do good work and build a solid business, they feel good about being a part of what you’re building.

They feel valued for their role in your practice and they are ready to position themselves to do amazing work that shows your community that your practice can be depended on to deliver amazing service.

Choose the workshop format that meets your needs and your budget:

  • A 60 minute workshop that can be delivered during a regular team meeting. It is brief, entertaining and jam packed with information and tools your team can use to implement the lessons and make improvements to their practices right away.

  • A 90 minute workshop that combines learning, discussion and appllication. Your team leaves with tools and a clear plan for what skills they are going to work on. I come back 4-6 later for a 30 minute Q and A to make sure the team is supported, and most importantly, so they can share their wins, whether that is improved retention, completed notes or client relationships.

With topics that are relevant to every group practice’s operations and every GPO’s peace of mind:

Starting it Right: Client Onboarding Best Practices to Build Relationships & Retain Clients

It all begins with that first client contact. The way you engage and connect will help you land the clients you love to treat, keep them coming, and support them in reaching their goals. Clients who love therapy keep coming to therapy! Teach your team how to cultivate connection through effective discovery calls and create and sustain relationships through solid booking practices. Your team will also learn how to have difficult conversations about boundaries such as missed sessions and your cancellation and non-payment policies.

Set Yourself Up For Success: Assessments, Plans & Client Engagement Strategies

Let’s face it. Clients come to us because they want to feel better, but they stay with us because they start feeling better, one session at a time. This workshop will teach your team how to effectively assess client needs, collaborate on realistic and attainable goals and keep their clients engaged for the life of the therapeutic relationship. Developing confident, professional therapists who get results for your clients cultivates the reputation you want your practice to have in your community: skilled, competent, effective, dependable and professional.

Stop Worrying! Processes for the Client Record: What To Do And How To Do It

Grad school did not prepare us for the administrative side of our work. It’s safe to say none of us love it…partially because we don’t learn how to do it, and do it well. Take the mystery out of documenting your work so you stop procrastinating, get it done and get on with your life. This workshop will provide answers to your team’s documentation dilemmas and give you the peace of mind that comes from knowing your team has been trained on the ethics and skills of effective documentation. as well as the habits that get notes done!

Replace the Overwhelm with Confidence: Documentation Tips &Hacks

Anyone who tells you they’ve never been behind in their notes is full of it! Note backlog is the shame that therapists hate to talk about and love to pass judgement on. If you learn how to stay on top of your notes, you’ll do better client work. As a GPO and custodian of the record, the last thing you want is incomplete notes that pile up and potentially spell ethical and professional disaster. Together we’ll cultivate casenote confidence for your team so you will have one less thing to worry about with effective, efficent documenters on your team.

Support Team Confidence: Managing the Tough Stuff as the Face of the Practice

When you were hired as Admin Support in a therapy practice you had no idea what you were in for: managing anxious clients, resolving conflicts, diffusing tense situations and managing crisis. You’re not a therapist but sometimes you feel like one! This workshop will give your Admin Support the confidence to manage the challenges that are unique to working in a mental health setting. We will discuss scenarios such as requests for records and client information, parental boundary violations, agitated clients and managing crisis.

Custom workshops and coaching to help your team tackle the challenges that inevitably come up in our work.

If you’re finding your team is encountering issues and could use some extra support, I can create custom workshops that reflect your practice's needs and values. These workshops blend clinical insight with practical tools, helping your team feel more confident, organized, and compliant in their day-to-day work. Here are a few examples: writing letters and responding to third party requests, managing dual relationships and countertransference issues and creating client-facing workshops and group therapy offerings to enhance the practice.

Here are some of the practices who I have been fortunate enough to support:
